Cyber Threats in 2012: Looking Both Ways

2012 was a dangerous year, packed with threats such as Drive-by exploits, Ransomware, phishing scams and state-sponsored malware.  Those who payed attention stayed safe by using anti-malware solutions combined with safe surfing practices and other defensive software.  However many people did not and unfortunately, millions of them became victims of cyber-crime.  Now that we have stepped into the next year, what can we expect from 2013? The best way to answer this is to look back at where we were a year ago and where we are now. What has changed, what have we learned and what do we know now that can help us predict the future? To answer these questions, we are releasing a detailed report, looking at the threats of 2012 and predictions for the threats we may see in 2013.
